...l ike my 22-year-old self sending it off a huge tabletop. Dug this one out of the archives just for you all on what is a very hot summer day here.
But seriously, it’s supposed to be a beautiful weekend. We’re going out in the boat tomorrow because 85 and sunny, hiking Sunday and I’m hopefully getting an extended test ride on a new (to me) mountain bike that I might buy . I leave work in an hour and 15 minutes and it can’t come soon enough.

Interesting coming from your part of the country. I had a friend in college who said “yeat” and told me it was a local lingo thing from Newburyport, MA which is like a sort-of fishing town but also a gentrified Boston suburb. I’m sure there’s an origin to it, but I’ve never been able to determine what that is. See below from Newburyport Brewing:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Chris says it when he toasts to his friends. Bill says it when he toasts Chris in a game of foosball. It’s part affirmation, part denial, but 100% Newburyport.
The origins of our hometown battle cry are a bit mythical. If you ask five locals about where “Yeat!” comes from, you might get five different answers. A naval greeting across vessels to identify Newburyport residents? A phrase used by dock workers unloading bread from clipper trade ships? An exclamation of excitement (Yay!)? An inappropriate derogatory statement (nothing we can write here)?
We may never know the true source of the phrase, but since we started making beer, we’ve borrowed it from our local vernacular and made it fun again. Yeat!

That pic reminds me of a line from K. Trevor Wilson, “actually, if we’re being completely honest, falling is relatively painless; landing, on the other hand, has the potential to sting like a bastard.”

Wow, that’s amazing. A friend who’s hiking the PCT posted pictures from Squaw that showed plenty of snow to run some of the upper lifts, if they wanted to. It’s less “amazing” when my friend has been trying to hike through it.

hahaha, much like the Clarkson line, “It’s not speed that kills. Suddenly becoming stationary, that’s what gets you.”
That pic was from a day where I made a drunken promise to a friend to go skiing the next day. He showed up at my house at like 7am saying, “well? Let’s go!” So we did, and I was so happy we did, it was a beautiful day - that’s what made me make the drunken promise in the first place! Good on him for calling me out.
I also did not crash, just for the record haha
